We're big on a family and short on space so after creating Asher's bedroom in the "office," I had to get creative for my work space.
If you're looking to create an office in a bedroom, here are my tips:
1️⃣ If possible, face a desk towards a window for natural light. Studies show that natural light reduces stress, eye strain and drowsiness.
2️⃣ Instead of a typical office chair, use an upholstered dining chair. This helps keep the space cohesive and less institutional. You can find these types of chairs for under $100.
3️⃣ Anchor your "office" with a rug. This makes the area look more polished and purposeful rather than "I just threw a desk against the wall."
4️⃣ Don't display everything! Many people know that my printer is under my bed. I keep files in a little cubby in the desk and pens in the drawer. A cluttered desk can look messy but also can create a lot of anxiety.
