My parents restored my mother's 120-year-old childhood home in Altoona, Pennsylvania as a gathering place for our family for years to come. We didn't go to resorts or foreign countries for summer vacations as kids, we came here. My mom's sibling, all of my cousins and their children all live in this same town, most of them on this same mountain. Grace and Jack enjoyed coming here just as much as I did. When my grandparents passed away, my mom got the house and we continued to come for holidays. During the pandemic, my cousin, a general contractor, helped my parents restore the home and now it's a wonderful place for our family to gather.
