If you're looking for a way to design a foundation for a boys room that will transition with them as they age, focus on the colors and NOT THE THEME. I styled classic driftwood, tones of blue and neutrals with "personality pieces" that reflect my son's love of fishing and baseball. When we move to Florida, this look will be the foundation of my five-year-old son's room and we'll accent with more age appropriate decor. A full bed is my solution to a great transitional start as it's much easier to change the art that all of the furniture!
