Earlier this week we celebrated the Feast of Mater Admirabilis - “Mother Most Admirable” - a beloved tradition within the Sacred Heart community around the world. 🌸 First painted in 1844 by Pauline Perdrau, a young novice of the Society of the Sacred Heart, the image of Mary in her rose-colored dress came to symbolize purity, study, love of work, and the gentle strength of motherly devotion. Her feast reminds us to honor the women and mother figures who nurture faith, wisdom, and compassion in our lives. Here at Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton, our students, faculty, and staff gathered in prayer and reflection, joining our global Sacred Heart family in celebration while our third graders commemorated the day with specially created art pieces to display during our liturgies. Together, we give thanks for the admirable love that connects us all - one heart, one community, one spirit of Mary. 💗 #shsatherton #wearesacredheart #rscj #feastofmotheradmirabilis #mothermostadmirable
