The answer is silence - at least to human ears! Since we can only hear sounds between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz, most of the high-pitched echolocation calls bats make go completely unnoticed by us.

By analyzing these high-pitched calls, researchers can discover which species are present and where they’re hanging out - essential insights that guide vital conservation work 🦇
