MSCS Expands Support for Immigrant Students Amid Law Enforcement Surge Memphis-Shelby County Schools says there have been no reported immigration enforcement actions on school campuses, despite the increase of federal agents and National Guard in the city. General Counsel Justin Bailey reminded the board that all nine members voted earlier this year to protect immigrant students. Staff have already been trained on how to respond if immigration officials show up, and the district created a dedicated hotline plus online resources for families.
