Nearly 1 in 5 MSCS students is Hispanic, a number that has almost doubled in the last decade. But now, some classrooms are emptier, and students are visibly afraid. Educators say families fear being stopped or detained on the way to school. One teacher shared that a parent completely withdrew their child and said they may have to leave Memphis.
