All three states in the Philadelphia region — #Pennsylvania, #NewJersey and #Delaware — have signed on to a 25-state lawsuit against the Trump administration over the suspension of SNAP benefit funding during the government shutdown. The lawsuit filed in Massachusetts asks a federal judge to order the Department of Agriculture to fund SNAP benefits for the month of November by using a contingency fund to help feed the more than 25 million people on food stamps in those states. The states argue that cutting off food stamp funding is unlawful and threatens to deprive millions of Americans of essential protections against hunger and food insecurity. New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings are all listed as plaintiffs in the suit. More details at the link in bio. We have lots of information on CBSPhiladelphia.com about navigating SNAP benefits and how to find food in your area. #SNAP #foodstamps #JoshShapiro ...
