God is perfect. He is holy. He is just. He is good. We, however, are not. Our sin separates us from Him—we could never meet His standard of goodness or stand in His presence on our own. But God did not leave us there. That’s why Christ died. He took our penalty and made us righteous before God, reconciling us to Him.
