Messages in a bottle written by two World War I soldiers were found by a family cleaning up trash on an Australian beach. The letters were written in 1916 and the soldiers even wrote what to do with the messages if they were found. The letters were written three days after Privates Malcolm Neville and William Harley began their journey on a troop ship to France to help the 48th Australian Infantry Battalion on Europe’s Western Front. Deb Brown and her family found them during their regular quad bike mission to clean up trash at Wharton Beach. The Brown family was able to contact the families of both the soldiers, according to the Associated Press and Australian Broadcasting Corp. #wwi #history #australia #soldier
