LIONS KNOCKOUT KNIGHTS IN QUARTERFINALS: The jserra.girlsvb team moved to within one win of a CIF-SS title match appearance, as the Lions defeated the Bishop Montgomery Knights 25-13, 25-21, 25-17 in a CIF-SS Division 2 quarterfinals match on Wednesday at JSerra Catholic High School. The Lions improve to 20-14 overall and will travel to West Ranch High School in Stevenson Ranch on Saturday for a semifinal battle with the Wildcats, who defeated Orange Lutheran in five sets in their quarterfinals match. JSerra took control of their match-up with the Knights early, surging to 13 of the first 16 points in the opening set. Sophomore Madison Goodrich sparked the Lions with a strong serving run that featured two aces, while seniors Charlotte Nowak and Catherine Beadles also delivered kills.
