READ CAPTION: This has been on my mind a lot this past week. I read an article talking about how as adults we don’t really remember the gifts we got as a child. For example, I can remember three gifts specifically that I got growing up. I don’t even really remember what the toys did, but I remember the memory around it. One of them was a nail polish kit from my meemaw and pawpaw that have both since passed. They gave me and my sisters the same exact gift. I don’t remember the nail polish though. I remember sitting in their living room, laughing and listening to stories from their years. I type this with tears running down my face because the memory is so sweet and so simple. I cherish those memories so much and I will never forget them. We live in a society now that cares more about stuff than memories. It’s all about posting what we bought, “flexing” on the gram, and doing more more more. I think of how I want to raise my own son and the things I buy him. I am so specific with gifts f...
