#PeopleofJSU: “I started dancing and acting in 5th grade. Ballet has always been therapeutic for me, and theatre is a passion of mine that fits with my personality. Being a military kid who moved around a lot, at times, I struggled to fit in. Jackson State became my home away from home, a place where I feel loved and accepted. I really started to get to know people once I began joining organizations on campus. The MADDRAMA Performance Troupe was the first organization that I joined. Seeing MADDRAMA combine singing, acting and dancing made for a perfect blend of all my interests. JStyleU was the next organization I joined and that’s where I built a lot of connections and met some of my closest friends. I always wanted to model, but I didn’t think I could until I got here.
