Comparing myself with others affected me more than I could’ve ever imagined.
Gradually, I started to feel more insecure. This insecurity, and other challenges, built up to a point where I was close to ending it all. I felt like everyone had something in them that I didn’t have. At one point it felt like everything was pushing me to end my life by suicide, but I had an impression from Heavenly Father saying, “No, come here,” and I felt Him encircle me in His love. He gave me the strength not to do it, and to ask for help.
At that time, I felt that part of my struggle was that I wasn’t looking unto Christ. However, He still helped me draw closer to Him though. For me, looking to Christ means trying to see His hand extended to me in everything. I think and ask myself, “If He was there when I was far away, if I come closer to Him how much closer would He be to me?” —Isidora
