The Crusaders are coming off a podium finish at last weekend’s Mid Atlantic Scholastic Sailing Association Fall Silver Invitational on Lake Erie. Canisius took third place overall with a sixth in A-Fleet and a second in B-Fleet in the two-day competition out of the Buffalo Yacht Club, where they were by far the highest local finisher as they took on crews from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland. The Crusaders head downstate this weekend to compete at the MASSA Keelboat Qualifier on Long Island Sound out of Larchmont, New York. The Crusaders were the only local school to qualify, doing so by beating St. Joe’s in all four races earlier this season.
