I finally had the privelege of seeing a shoebill stork in person. It’s like a cross between a muppet and a dinosaur. You can also find videos of its “machine-gun” vocalization, but unfortunately it only makes the sound in social situations—so now I gotta to Africa and see the shoebill in its natural habitat. I went back to a more cinematic look to capture this “nightmare bird.” What do you think?
