I spent the day with Dr. Sherrie Thomas, a breast surgeon who doesn’t just perform operations—she becomes a trusted guide for patients navigating the most challenging journey of their lives. Watching her explain complex medical decisions with clarity and kindness showed me that being a great physician requires both brilliant medical knowledge and genuine human connection. I also got to see the TrueBeam high-precision radiation therapy machine and learned how physicians analyze scans to create personalized treatment plans for each patient. It’s incredible how much detail and expertise goes into reading imaging—knowing exactly what to look for can make all the difference.
