Scotland hiking can be tough…😮‍💨 And here’s why 👇🏼 Midge: These tiny little biters are the devil incarnate when it comes to Scotland hiking trails. They come out on overcast, low-wind days, and are more active by water and at sunrise or sunset 🦟 Make sure you bring bug spray like smidge or a mosquito net. It will SAVE YOUR SOUL. Wind: Being blown off a ridgeline is not something I consider a fun activity. And my gosh, have I experienced some crazy gales on Scotland mountains 💨 Blisteringly cold, you may be fighting for your balance (and your life) on some of the highest peaks. Though, at least the wind blows the midge away 🙌 Ridgelines are leg burners: I’ve come to realise that your typical ridgeline in the Scottish Highlands involves a lot of up and down… A LOT.
