I recently had the opportunity to film some artists here in Tucson listening to some of their own tracks at therialtotucson with their new sound system. Here is a still frame of southwestlansky from that day. Being able to see their expressions as they sat on the opposite end of the venue, as a spectator instead of an entertainer was … entertaining lol Initially, some had a slight awkwardness to them as they weren’t sure how to sit/stand or how to react as I focused on them with my camera in a big silent room and a spotlight on them, patiently waiting for me to set up and give the crew the signal to start the music. But once the song started, the empty room wasn’t so empty anymore. The artists forgot about the camera and the spotlight. The music took control as they sat in their own world, eyes closed, taking in the layers of sounds emitted from the speakers.
