After nearly 20 days of worry and frantic searching, Ron Dailey, the Selma hunter who disappeared in the Sierra National Forest, is back home with his loved ones.
“We were just overwhelmed with emotions. We couldn’t stop crying. We’re trying to stop now. He’s home, he’s safe, he’s pretty healthy. We’re just grateful,” said Dailey’s daughter.
On a video call with FOX26 News, you could feel the relief and overwhelming joy through the screen as the Dailey family is back together again.
Dailey says it was hope, faith, and love for his family that kept him alive while stranded in the mountains.
“I thank God,” Dailey said. “I told God, thank you for saving my life. Now, I get to see my wife and kids and grandkids again.”
Dailey described the moment he finally made contact with rescuers near Swamp Lake Trail.
