Gray the Eastern rat snake is embracing Halloween to the fullest! 🎃 We introduced him to our jack-o-lantern, and he quickly claimed it as his new favorite hide (creating quite the spooky photo-op in the process). Eastern rat snakes are common in forests and fields of Pennsylvania. To those who are snake-averse, their long, black bodies may look like something straight out of a horror movie. Our resident ambassadors Gray and Adelinde help visitors discover the gentle, charming, and docile nature of these beautiful creatures. We hope that these interactions can help folks reimagine their negative perceptions of snakes as a whole! 🐍 So don't worry... behind this eerie sight is just a curious reptile enjoying the Halloween spirit and looking for a cool place to relax!
