Take it from the caterpillars: change is the only constant. 🐛 Over the past few months, our Conservation Interpreters have raised and released over 30 monarch butterflies at Shaver's Creek. Before release, each butterfly is tagged with a sticker provided by Monarch Watch, a citizen science project that tracks the migration of monarch butterflies. Each sticker has a unique ID number that can be traced back to Shaver's Creek when the butterflies are found and recorded by scientists in the future. It has been so fulfilling to see visitors light up with curiosity and wonder as they help to release the monarchs and become part of their migration journey. 🦋 Special thanks to Mary Krupa for capturing these awesome videos of the caterpillar life cycle in action!
