This is one of my most fav recipes—crispy and caramelized on the outside, soft in the middle and coated in a sesame and shallot sauce. Insanity, you’ve been warned, so make a double batch 😋!
Makes 4 servings
1 lb brussels sprouts, trimmed and sliced in half
3 tb butter or avocado oil
3 tsp honey
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
2 tb coconut aminos (or 1 tb soy sauce)
2 tsp sriracha
3 tb sesame seeds
1 medium shallot, sliced very thinly
In a medium bowl, toss the brussels sprouts with 1 tb of the butter/oil, honey, salt and pepper. Save the bowl. Preheat a large cast-iron skillet just above medium heat for about 2 min. Add remaining 1 tb butter/oil and wait 30 seconds for it to warm up. Add the brussels sprouts, cut side down, and allow them to cook for 5-7 minutes or deep golden brown and crusty.
