@kalejunkie for more! TOASTED COCONUT BIRDS NESTS! 🪺🐣 These little no-bake treats are so easy and fun to make. When I was growing up, we’d make these the traditional way—using fried chow mein noodles—but today they get a little makeover by substituting the noodles for unsweetened toasted coconut. And of course you can use any easter candies you’d like, but I kept it nostalgic because Easter is only one day a year and I believe in balance, but as always, you do you. My job is to provide you with ideas and your job is to tailor them your preferences.
2 1/2 cups unsweetened coconut (the larger shreds preferred)
1 1/4 cups chocolate chips
1 tsp coconut oil
Easter candies of choice
Preheat oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread coconut on the tray and toast for 5-6 minutes. KEEP AN EYE ON IT, as coconut can burn quickly. Let cool. In a medium bowl, add chocolate chips and coconut oil. Melt in the microwave in 2-3 30-second increments, until smooth ...
