TRADER JOE’S CHILI ONION CRUNCH, follow
@kalejunkie for more recipes like this! Many of you commented on my Trader Joe’s haul the other day and said I forgot the chili onion crunch, but I didn’t—this is one of the things that I prefer to make myself bc it’s so easy and we go through it quickly.
How I use it (possibilities are ENDLESS!)—
As a topping on eggs (my favorite)
On cucumber slices with cream cheese
On roasted veggies
On toast
On sandwiches
Mixed into hummus (don’t knock it will you try it!)
Makes 1 cup
1/4 cup minced onion
1/4 cup minced garlic
1 tb smoked paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tb crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp chili powder
3/4 cup olive oil (preferred for best taste!)
Mix together and store in a covered jar in the pantry. I don’t store it in the refrigerator bc the oil will get solid, so a cool, dark spot in the pantry is always best. This will stay fresh for up to 2 months, but mine never lasts more than 2 weeks bc we go through it quickly!
