@kalejunkie for more recipes! Let’s make my mom’s MANTI, one of my most favorite Armenian dishes! These are little crispy meat-filled dumplings in the shape of a boat that can be eaten alone or in a simple broth topped with garlic yogurt and sumac. SOOOOOO GOOD!
Note: other middle eastern cultures have their own take on Manti, this is the one I grew up with!
And also, most Armenian grandmas make their own dough from scratch and would dieeeee if they saw me using won ton wrappers, but TRUST ME, use the won ton wrappers. This is already time consuming to make, ya don’t need to make dough from scratch—unless you ARE grandma 😏.
Mom’s Manti Recipe—serves 6-8
1 small onion
1 pound ground beef (or lamb or turkey)
2 cloves garlic
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt & 1 tsp black pepper
1/3 cup parsley (about 1/2 bunch)
Wonton wrappers
4 tb butter, for greasing pan & brushing mantis
Broth:
1 cup tomato sauce
3 cups chicken broth
Salt & pepper
