“I CAN’T REMOVE THE PIT FROM MY PEACH!” 🍑 A little lesson from
@kalejunkie in response to I questions I’ve received lately 👏🏼. You know how sometimes you cut a peach in half, and MAGIC!!! It opens and you can easily remove the pit. But other times, you can’t even get the darn thing open 😤.
Here’s why and what you need to know.
There are TWO* main peach categories: clingstone and freestone. Peaches are not labeled one or the other, so if you aren’t sure, you’ll need to ASK.
FREESTONE: these are peaches that you can easily cut in half and pop the peach right out!
CLINGSTONE: these are peaches with pits that are difficult to remove (they CLING to the skin of the peach).
What this means: if you are looking for peaches you can easily slice in half, remove the pit, and throw in the grill/oven/air fryer, you’ll want a FREESTONE.
