But when he saw those girls, no one around him was willing to step in. He told me that he couldn’t leave them there. So with the cash he had on hand, he opened his wallet and freed them. It was a split-second decision that changed everything. There was no safe home to take them to—so we built one. There’s a saying: “Evil triumphs when good men do nothing.” My dad wasn’t going to be that man.
