LIONS KNOCK OUT LAGUNA BEACH: The jserra_boys_water_polo team closed out Pool A play in the CIF-SS Open Division playoffs with a 14-6 triumph over the Laguna Beach Breakers on Wednesday at JSerra Catholic High School. The Lions improve to 20-11 overall and finish in second place in Pool A with a 2-1 record. Senior Connor Colman tallied two goals in the opening period, with freshman Christopher Koo also found the back of the net, helping JSerra to a 3-2 lead. JSerra extended its’ advantage in the second period, outscoring the Breakers 4-1. Sophomore Lars Knepper tallied two goals in a 43-second span just past the midway point of the period, including a no-look bullet in the middle. Colman and sophomore Ronan Keane added goals in the final 2:08 of the half to give JSerra a 7-3 lead at the intermission.
