The Global Studies Certificate Program encourages students to seek out experiential learning opportunities and explore their interests and talents. A common theme from the first speakers of the year is that your career path can go many ways. As Speaker Allison Cronin, manager of Brand Portal Compliance for Walmart San Francisco, said, “Careers don’t always follow a straight line, but every experience can build toward something unexpected and meaningful.”
Tom Marotta, CEO of the Spaceport Company, and Andres Permuy, engineering student at the Columbia University Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) also echoed this thought. After Tom Marotta’s talk, the group went outside to set a rocket!
Superintendent Dr. Vorbach ‘83 offered his foundational seminar—Politics for a Globalized World—based on his expertise and experience in international relations.
