Pluralistic societies are where people have different, religious, ethnic, ideological, and cultural backgrounds, yet can live together respectfully and peacefully. . It means that in those countries people can express their widely divergent views with no fear of censorship or retribution. . It means that the government treats everyone — regardless of their backgrounds — equally, fairly, and honorably. . It also means that diversity is seen as a strength, not a liability. .
