The McCallum Knights beat the Crockett Cougars 73-8 tonight at House Park. The second half started with a Crockett touchdown, after which the Cougars successfully completed a 2-point conversion to make the score 35-8 with the Knights still in the lead. Senior Cooper Hensley then ran for a touchdown, and senior Max Fullerton kicked an extra point to put McCallum further ahead 42-8. On Crockett’s next possession, the Knight defense caused them to turn the ball over on downs. Junior quarterback Aiden Ilai completed a flea-flicker trick play to senior Alex Hopper, who then tossed the ball to junior Luke Mathabela who ran it in for a touchdown. Two more touchdowns were scored after that by senior Jax Hicks and Hensley to put the Knights ahead 63-8. A Cougar fumble was then recovered by senior Victor Navarro to end the third quarter.
