Next up is our Primate/South America Team! 🦧🐒🦦 From orangutans and giant river otters, to spider monkeys, a giant anteater, and more, this group works with some of the Zoo’s most socially dynamic animals. Did you know? 🤔 Most of their animals live in complex social groups and are very intelligent. To care for them well, staff has to recognize and respond to a wide range of social cues and vocalizations. They have to develop enrichment items to challenge the animals throughout the day, grow relationships through training, plan and deliver diets in thoughtful ways, and prop and maintain living spaces. All of these pieces work together to give the animals the best wellbeing, and they are dynamic. This crew are masters of flexibility! #NationalZooKeeperWeek
