Today marks 24 years from the day I shattered my foot in 3 places… just three months before Olympic Trials. I had left a college scholarship, dealt with several injuries, was coming off a rough World Cup and then this accident. In this video, the audio is a clip from just days after the accident. Yes, I was filled with doubt, frustration, anger and sadness wondering if my only shot at making an Olympic Games was over. But at the same time I was filled with hope, determination and purpose… … and those are much stronger and will carry you much further.
