“Parhelion” noun. | A bright spot in the sky appearing on either side of the sun, formed by refraction of sunlight through ice crystals high in the atmosphere. Have been lucky enough to see a few of these since being in Antarctica thanks to the abundance of ice crystals, a polarised filter on my lens whilst on the ice was able to help show this light phenomenon as it’s seen by the human eye. • • #endurance22 #parhelion #phenomenon #antarctica #lightphotography #sun #icecrystals
