On December 27, 1972, Captain Ronald Forrester '69 and his pilot, Captain Jim Chipman, departed Nam Phong Air Base in Thailand aboard an A-6A Intruder aircraft for a mission over North Vietnam. The aircraft and its crew never returned from their mission and were subsequently listed as missing in action.
