Detroit! This past weekend I was honored to be a panelist at the blackfootwearforum at plcdetroit , which is an annual gathering that brings together Black and Brown professionals, students, executives, allies, and supporters to foster community and drive inclusivity in the footwear industry. Since this event started in 2019, I’ve made it a priority to attend. From being an attendee for many years to now being on stage as a panelist is truly humbling, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share. I shared the stage with jamiersen beauclere es_wallace & our moderator nerdlikejazzy who led an introspective conversation reflecting on our journeys and how we transformed our fields and created new categories, using transferable skills that we picked up along the way.
