Press runs with our 10x15 Chandler & Price Gordon-style jobbing press are always an undertaking! For this press run, Howard and Jared are using black rubber base ink to print a large photo engraving of a cartoon depiction of Howard and his favorite letterpress saying, “Mind your p’s & q’s.” The artwork was created by our staff member, Shawn. The image was then sent to OWOSSO Graphic Arts in Owosso, Michigan where the photo engraving was designed. In this video, Howard and Jared show letterpress printing copies. There were 250 copies printed in this press run and a dab of ink was added about every 30 copies. These autographed prints are available in our museum store and website. This printing press was made in 1902.
