Be My Eyes is proud to celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day! GAAD’s purpose is to get everyone talking, thinking and learning more about how to make the digital world more accessible and inclusive. This year’s theme is digital access and inclusion, something we have committed to since the launch of our app back in 2015!
Using the words of Mike Shebanek, head of accessibility at Facebook: “We need to ensure that future technologies are just as accessible or even more so that the ones we have today”
This is exactly what we are pursuing at Be My Eyes with the launch of the beta test for our new Virtual Volunteer, the new feature within the Be My Eyes that contains a dynamic new image-to-text generator, to make life more accessible for millions of people living with blindness and low vision.
We can’t wait to share more with you in the coming months! Happy Global Accessibility Awareness Day to our amazing Be My Eyes community!
