Kansas City, MO residents now have a more efficient way to travel between downtown and Midtown after the Kansas City Streetcar opened its new extension, linking neighborhoods and popular sites including Country Club Plaza, Westport, and more along the Main Street corridor. Downtown Kansas City opened its extended route of the streetcar on Oct. 24, according to kcstreetcar.org. Stops were opened from Main Street and extended further south toward Midtown and University of Missouri-Kansas City. For Kansas City, the streetcar represents more than just a means of transportation.
