Lives have been lost, homes destroyed, and power remains out across much of the country. What we do know is that the storm’s toll on both people and nature is immense. Ancient forests have been stripped bare, threatened species left without food, and conservation sites severely damaged. Yet even amid destruction, hope persists. 🌿 Re:wild is working closely with our partners to assess damages and support the recovery of ecosystems that sustain both people and wildlife. Research shows that the conditions that caused this hurricane to intensify so quickly were made about six times more likely because of climate change.
