A standout amateur who won back-to-back City Championships and served as head professional at San Antonio Country Club for over 40 years, Menefee helped shape the Texas golf community from the ground up. He played alongside legends like Harvey Penick, Ben Hogan, and Byron Nelson, and helped revive the Texas Open through the San Antonio Golf Association, which he co-founded.
