This is the face of pure joy and a little bit of relief. I am an animal lover, so when I found out there was a snow monkey park near where we were staying in Japan I had to make it happen. • Unfortunately we missed our scheduled bus by one minute. We watched it pull away as we ran through the bus terminal. There was one more bus that could get us there but it advertised a 40 minute hike to the park entrance and we would only have 40 minutes total. • I feel like my inner Amazing Racer kicked in because I wasn’t about to give up yet. We decided we thought we could cut that time in half. Armed with 25+ pound backpacks we got off the bus and started running. The 2km+ uphill snow covered path tried to stop us, but we were on a mission. After half a days travel we arrived at the park covered in sweat with exactly 20 minutes to go. • • I’d do it all again in a heartbeat to walk amongst these wonderful little creatures. . .
