LIONS FALL TO ISLANDERS: The jserra.girlsvb team saw its’ season come to a tough end on Tuesday, as the Lions were defeated by the Coronado Islanders 12-25, 20-25, 18-25 in a CIF Division 1 State Championships South Bracket first round match at Coronado High School in Coronado. Senior Charlotte Nowak led the Lions with 13 kills. Senior Catherine Beades and sophomore Kendall Stark combined for 25 of the team’s 27 assists. Sophomore Madison Goodrich had a team-high 15 digs, while junior Katherine Nowak added 13 digs.
