Earlier this week, Temple Station deputies responded to a person experiencing a mental health crisis who was armed with a weapon. Deputies immediately coordinated a response that included a field supervisor, deputies equipped with less-lethal options, and our Mental Evaluation Team — which pairs a deputy with a Department of Mental Health clinician.
Thanks to teamwork, training, and the use of these specialized resources, deputies were able to safely de-escalate the situation and ensure the community member received the help they needed.
