Music has a special way of encapsulating emotions, and Vienna by Billy Joel was just what I needed to hear on the last day of my solo trip. Sure, on a surface level, the connection was pretty clear: I was in Vienna listening to Vienna. Simple enough right?
For me, it was more than that. I was not ready to leave my travel adventures to come back to the United States. There was still so much more to do, so much more to see. How could I possibly make the most of every second of my last day traveling?
Then, emerging above the Piano, a voice reminded me to slow down. I really did have so much to do with only so many hours in a day. There was no way I could do every single thing possible with every second left of my last day, but “only fools are satisfied.” It’s important to dream and have ambitions, but if I imagined they’d all come true, I’m not so sure they would be dream.
