I taught a college football workshop last weekend with my local camera shop - I was able to grab some BTS and share some tips with you. 1) Keep your head on a swivel, not only for safety - but as a courtesy not to set up shop in front of someone. Be kind. 2) Get off your butt! Criss cross or having your feet straight out might get you a lower angle for the shot but if they come crashing into you it’s tough to get out of the way. Refs sprint down the sideline, or sometimes teammates come sprinting down to celebrate. Be on one knee. Or stand. 3) Know the basics of the game. What’s a down. Run? Throw? You don’t need to be John Madden, but knowing the basics, formations, and even following what’s needed to score is huge.
