Check your blood levels!🩸 During the winter, Vitamin D levels can decrease, and can lead to deficiencies.☀️😭 And Vitamin D—and Iron deficiencies—are 2 common deficiencies linked to hair loss + brittle hair. (FYI: I read that it is estimated that almost 3/4 of Black Americans are deficient in Vitamin D😢). So make sure you schedule a visit at your doctor’s office to check your levels 🤗👩⚕️
2. Hairstyles🔥 For us curlies, it’s always best to minimize straightening our hair. But especially during the spring + summer when the humidity is high😭☔️ The high humidity could lead to sleek styles hair reverting quicker… and this could lead to more straightening touch-ups throughout the week. And more heat= higher chance of heat damage + breakage😩 So I’d try swapping sleek + straight styles for braids, textured styles, & low-maintenance styles during the spring 🌷
