Swipe ⬅️ to see what it’s like to snorkel at one of the most resilient reefs in the world 🌊👀
Videographer and diver finnwhitethomson used 360° photography to capture the Great Reef, located off the coast of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Covering nearly 6 square kilometers, it is one of the largest reef systems in the Red Sea and part of what scientists have called the world’s most resilient reef.
Unlike many reefs that are being destroyed by warming waters, the Red Sea’s unique conditions allow its coral to withstand rising temperatures, making it a rare stronghold for marine life. Jeddah’s reefs alone are home to more than 300 coral species and over 1,200 species of fish.
Captured in 360°, the reef appears unreal, as if diving straight in.
