HEADS UP💜💚🩷! RARE, SEVERE (G4) Geomagnetic Storm WATCH issued for Wednesday, November 12. This is your second chance to view the Aurora across the United States & Canada. Timing is a bit tricky, as the strongest pulse of the solar energy may arrive before sunset. If it hits too early, we might only get the tail end of the geomagnetic storm after dark. However, if it lingers long enough, this solar storm could drive the aurora even farther south! Peak viewing conditions 7pm-12am. Look north, get away from city light pollution. Areas in the Deep South & Gulf Coast - Use night mode on your phone camera, look north. You may see a faint red/pink glow as charged particles from the sun collide with gases in the Earth's upper atmosphere! And if you're really lucky(like a few people last night in Louisiana), you might also catch a rogue Taurid meteor during the Taurid Meteor Shower! @WDSU News #solarstorm #geomagneticstorm #auroraborealis #aurora
